No HAM station is complete without the proper test equipment. Dummy loads are an essential piece of test equipment, needed to ensure your radio is properly transmitting, watt meters will tell you how much power your rig is putting out.

DL-1500 DUMMY LOAD

The Palstar DL1500 dummy load for amateur radio is capable of handling 100 Watts "barefoot" power levels for 10 minutes, and 1500 Watts for up to 10 seconds. A custom designed Hyperbolic cone permits the the DL1500 to operate at up to 500 MHz (although there is some loss in power handling capability above 30 MHz).

The DL1500 is air-cooled, so there is no messy transformer oil to deal with. The DL1500 is an ideal simple, basic dummy load for the ham who does not need the capabilities of our much larger Palstar DL2K and DL5K dummy loads.

DL2K DUMMY LOAD

The Palstar DL2K 2000 Watt dummy load was born out of the need for a dummy load that allows for more time to tune your amp. Most dummy loads don't have the real world power capability needed by Ham operators who use a high-power amplifier. Palstar's solution: the DL2K that can handle 2000W for 1 minute, or 400W continuously. The DL2K has thermostatically controlled fan cooling, so the fan only runs when needed, or it can be switched on to run continuously.

DL2.5HP DUMMY LOAD

The Palstar DL2.5HP was born out of the need for a dummy load that allows for more time to tune your amp at high power. Most dummy loads don't have the real world power load capability needed by Ham operators who run high-power amplifiers.

The Next-Generation Palstar DL2.5HP Dummy Load for amateur radio rated at 1 to 60 MHz can handle up to 2500 watts for up to 1 minute, and up to 600 watts for 100% duty cycle. The DL2.5HP has thermostatically-controlled dual fan cooling, so the fans only run when needed.

PM2000A WATTMETER

The Palstar PM2000A wattmeter measures and displays forward power up to 2000 Watts, reflected power, and SWR simultaneously on its dual movement meter system in the frequency range of 1.8 MHz to 60 MHz. Accuracy of the readings is assured because the PM2000A features a true shielded directional coupler.
